      <image:title>Home - Traditional Craftsmanship</image:title>
<image:caption>My goal is to make items similarly to how they were made 150+ years ago. Every house had different styles of chairs, tables, and other furniture. No one went to the local furniture store and bought the same thing their neighbors had. It was hand-made and individualized by a local craftsman.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Home - Handcrafted and Unique</image:title>
<image:caption>I build everything by hand. Plans are occasionally used as a starting point, but I prefer to make the best use of the materials I have on hand and the techniques I am familiar with. Machines are used for much of the milling, but nearly every joint and surface gets touched by hand, even if it is just to soften the corners with a block plane or smooth the facets with a spokeshave.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Home - Natural Resources</image:title>
<image:caption>I try and use whatever the tree gives me. If a board has a knot or a mineral streak through it, I try to incorporate it into the finished piece. For reclaimed wood, nail holes may be used to contrast the other boards or hidden, depending on the desired look of the finished piece. Finished items use all natural materials, there is no cookie cutter furniture where everything looks identical and uniform. The beauty of the materials should always show through. I try to use natural finishes as well that are non-toxic and safe for the environment and the users.</image:caption>

      <image:title>About - About Me</image:title>
<image:caption>I have been making things from wood since I was old enough to use a saw. I grew up on a dairy and tobacco farm. We built everything ourselves and fixed things when they broke. I have been employed by Washington County Public Schools since 1994 in the Technology Department. Cristie and I have been married since 1995 and we live and work in Abingdon, VA.</image:caption>

      <image:title>About</image:title>
<image:caption>My woodworking is still part-time, but I never stop learning new things and exploring new forms. My goal is to always do a better job than the last time and build things to the best of my ability. I try to use traditional methods and means of construction when possible. Many of my pieces are completely unique, even the ones that look similar.</image:caption>
